History of
Four Slide Engineering
In 1962, the founder, Ronald Mason, worked for a spring
company in Chicago, Illinois. He came to California looking for a better life for himself and his family. Upon
landing a job in Los Angeles, Ron sent for his family.
Within a few years, Ron became a foreman during the
day. At night, he rented a shop in South El Monte, and with $7.00 worth of business cards he started doing tooling and
running jobs.
In 1967, Ron bought his first Four Slide machine and opened FOUR SLIDE TOOL & ENGINEERING
CO. in Downey.
On October 9, 1973 the company was incorporated as Four Slide Engineering. By 1974,
Ron had purchased an 8,000 sq. ft. building in Paramount and moved the operations. His wife, Sylvia, ran the office
while Ron taught his son, Mike, how to tool and run jobs when he was home from the Navy. Mike finished his Term of Service
in 1975 and started working full-time for his father. Ron & Sylvia’s two oldest daughters worked part-time
while raising their children and going to school.
In 1976, the building in Paramount was sold, and Mike
took over the business and moved the operations to Garden Grove.
The family moved to Moreno Valley in 1979
and in 1980, FOUR SLIDE ENGINEERING, INC. found its location in Rubidoux.
In 2000, the company moved
to Temecula and during the first six years at that location, Mike & Terri Mason have purchased all outstanding stocks
from their family partners and are now sole owners of Four Slide Engineering.
In 2007, we moved to our present
facility in Perris, CA.
The corporation has been a family-run business for over thirty years and has
always considered its employees to be part of “The Family“.
